Burbank beats Roseville 36-27...on to the CHAMPIONSHIP!

The Titans needed a monumental effort in order to beat the SFL Champion Roseville High School. The Tigers were led by one of the very best quarterbacks in the section in Mike Moreno, and had one of the fastest players in Zach Davis.

However, the Titans have an excellent quarterback in Miles Freeman. In this head-to-head battle of quarterbacks, Freeman was clearly the better player that night. The biggest difference was the Titans cast of players who all contributed to a great win. Freeman shined as usual, but seniors Duma Larry, David Gray, Lucky Dozier, and Curtis Holden made huge plays on offense all night long. Whenever Roseville seemed to gain momentum, the Titans offense had an answer. Had it not been for four fumbles, the score might have been worse for the Tigers.

Burbank was up 28-7 at the half, and held on for a 36-27 lead after Roseville came storming back in the second half. The defense had an awesome night besides some big runs by Roseville. Moreno, despite 267 yards passing, could not beat Burbank with his running.

This Friday's game is a rematch with the Grant Pacers, who beat the Titans 35-13 three weeks ago. The Pacers are ranked number one in the Sac-Joaquin section, and number two in Northern California. They have unbelievable talent, and a veteran coaching staff that knows how to get championships.

With a convincing win over the Titans on Friday, the Pacers are almost assured of a spot to play in the CIF State Championships in Southern California.

The Titans will do their best to spoil the party and earn the school's first Section Title. If you are into high school sports, there is no better game in town this Friday than Burbank vs. Grant. Both teams know that this will be a war.

Put on your Columbia Blue and Gold on and represent "The South" at Folsom this Friday!
