Burbank's Loses Section Title Game 55-6

The Sacramento Bee blogs were full all week with anticipation as the upstart Titans made it to the championship game for the first time in decades. Awaiting the Titans were the #1 ranked Grant Pacers. In order to challenge the Pacers, the Titans would have to play their best game. By the end of the first half, the score showed what had happened. It was 35-0 Grant, and the route was on.

The first drive was a hard fought one for the Pacers, and they used a trick play to get in the end zone. The Grant offense opened up their playbook, using a mix of QB sneaks, the powerful running of junior RB Devontae Booker, and their passing game to keep the Titan defense on their heels all night.

The Titans offense could not move the ball consistently at all. Numerous interceptions, fumbles, and missed assignments added to what was easily the worst game of the year.

It was too bad that the worst game had to be the last one of the year. Although the score was out of hand in the the second half, the Titans played hard until the end of the game. Although the championship game left much to be desired, the season was still a good one. As a program, we obviously have to get better at a lot of things to really be considered a section power. But we will be back strong next year.

Believe that.
